The Tripp Lite B055-001-UDV is a server interface unit that links a computer’s DVI video output and USB keyboard and mouse ports to a Tripp Lite B064-IPG Series KVM switch through one Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

By replacing thick KVM leads with standard network cabling that can run up to 164 feet, the unit frees valuable space behind your racks and allows better airflow for cooling. You clip the device directly to the server, connect the DVI and USB plugs, and patch it to the switch—no external power adapter or driver installation is required.

Virtual Media support lets you mount a local drive or ISO image from the KVM console to the remote computer. This makes tasks such as deploying software, applying updates, or performing system recovery as straightforward as sitting in front of the server itself.

For environments that rely on smart-card authentication, the built-in Common Access Card pass-through keeps security intact. Government agencies, defense contractors, and any organization that uses CAC credentials can maintain the same login protocol even when working through the KVM.

The lightweight housing tucks neatly behind a server or within a cable manager, an advantage in dense installations where every inch matters. Because the device meets Federal Trade Agreements Act requirements, it fits neatly into GSA Schedule projects without additional compliance checks.

Highlights:

  • Connects a USB and DVI server to a B064-IPG Series KVM switch with one Cat5e or Cat6 cable up to 164 feet
  • Enables Virtual Media for remote software installation, file transfer, and booting from an image
  • Passes through Common Access Card data for secure authentication in government or corporate networks
  • Replaces thick combination KVM cables, improving rack space and ventilation
  • Offers plug-and-play setup and draws power from the server’s USB port; no drivers or external power supply needed
  • TAA compliant for straightforward inclusion in GSA Schedule purchases
